Hengar Manor forms a superb venue for a fishing holiday our fishing lakes are open all year for the exclusive use of our guests, there is no charge to fish our lakes and the lakes are not open to the general public.
Throughout the winter months of 2005/2006 we ran a major restocking programme on Manor and Willow lakes. Roger our fishieries manager is responsible for the lakes and our fully stocked bait and tackle shop.
During the summer months we hold weekly fishing matches for our residents. Our three r
emote lakes are set within the boundaries of the golf course and provide a tranquil setting for all anglers.
Manor Lake
This is the largest lake in excess of 1&1/2 acres, Carp in excess of 25lb and tench to 5lb can be found in this water along with many small carp, roach and bream that are ideal for a family fishing holiday.
Willow Lake
This lake is surrounded by rhodendrons and is ½ acre in size, Carp up to 7lb along with many small carp, roach & tench can be found in this water, this again is ideal for a family fishing holiday.
Nature lake
This lake is the smallest of the lakes at around a ¼ acre.This lake is used as our fish rearing lake & is stocked with carp up to 11lb in weight.
A valid Environment Agency FISHING LICENCE is required for any body 12 years and above fishing our lakes For information on the lakes including bait bans and rules ask to speak to Roger at the fishing tackle shop.
