Fishing Lakes

Hengar Manor forms a superb venue for a fishing holiday in Cornwall.

Our tranquil and well-stocked lakes are open all year for the free and exclusive use of our guests. Roger, our Lakes Manager, is here to help with your needs, running the Bait & Tackle shop where you obtain advice, arrange fishing lessons, hire tackle and purchase all your bait requirements.

The three lakes, ranging in size from a quarter to just over one and a half acres, provide perfect training water for the beginner as well as more challenging conditions for the experienced angler. The lakes are stocked with Carp, Tench, Bream and Roach. Manor Lake, the largest, has produced Carp in excess of 25lbs.

During the Summer, we hold regular family fishing competitions. And, if you're feeling a little more adventurous, why not have a go at deep-sea fishing from one of the local fishing villages on the South coast.

Manor Lake

This is the largest lake in excess of 1½ acres.

Carp (25lb+) & Tench (up to 5lb) can be found in this water along with many small carp, roach & bream that are ideal for a family fishing holiday.

Willow Lake

This lake is surrounded by Rhodendrons and is ½ acre in size, Carp up to 7lb along with many small Carp, Roach & Tench can be found in this water, this again is ideal for a family fishing holiday.

Nature Lake

This lake is the smallest of the lakes at around a ¼ acre. This lake is used as our fish rearing lake & is stocked with carp up to 11lb in weight.

A valid Environment Agency FISHING LICENCE is required for anybody 12 years and over fishing our lakes.
